ok... here it is... this was one blurry, cloudy, rainy day...
could you tell from the photo... used: brushes - soften skin, exposure, contrast, saturation x2...
lightroom has quite a bit of power with brushes... they are simple, imitations of darkroom techniques, but they work, and it's easier to do it digital, then analogue...
use auto masking, and keep your hand on spacebar - as it's used for zooming...
I see that the colors are very vivid "nikon-like" ^^

I try to give critique, like it or not. It doesn't mean I don't like your work, it's just another point-of-view you might have or might have not though
thx for the technical lesson. Yes I did spend weeks trying 5 Canon bodies and No, the colors of the RAW didn't come out as a Nikon CCD, not even a Nikon CMOS. Dynamic Range and Color will have the edge with the Nikon CMOS it's a total domination... Fortunely the T1i rectifies that, lets wait for Digic V now. Talking about CMOS Vs. CCD, Medium format digital back are CCDs...
for your shot yes you boosted the saturation and it looks good

for me high iso noise is a bit more important then vivid colors... lightroom fixes that for me on every import... so it's not a problem...
but on the day i took this one, you couldn't find one vivid color... it was dark, rainy, cloudy... no colors at all...

and for canons - they are pale and usually weak on blacks - and that can be good
