People, you can skip this journal if it's a great day for you, but it was a sad week for me.

It was Monday afternoon, evening, 7PM. I finished some subtitle work for an association here in Zagreb. It was a fully voluntary work, but for a noble purpose - that association is responsible for a lot of work based on UNICEF programs, and this subtitle work was for a CAP program - child assault prevention.

I was sitting in a café with a woman from that association, working on some corrections, drinking some coffee. Near a half of our work, bartender passed by, knocking down a glass full of water, which ended going straight in my MacBook Pro.

Do I need to say more - my Mac died. Motherboard corded, memory died - all electronics died, but hard disk is still alive. Now I lost my baby. My computer which was with me all the time, while I took photos, or went to college.

Now, there is just memories of that times, but I have to wait till Monday, and hope for a replacement MacBook Pro, or some kind of compensation. That's a lot of money, and I have none of it in my pocket right now.

Keep your fingers crossed for him, for me. I need all the luck in the world if I'm going to get a replacement or compensation.

This one is not photography related, but I'm just so proud of myself now i have to write this one down.

Yesterday, oh jeah, it's after midnight now here, I was a part of CISCO NetRiders contest. And I OWNED the competition. The NetRiders contest for entire country of Croatia, with 18 contestant, consists from tree parts. First part is making a crossover ethernet cable, second and third are combined in single time limit, and they consist from answering theory questions and configuring a small network. First part - the cable part, has only 15 points: 5 for time, 5 for esthetics and 5 for function. Other two parts have 15 time more points.

So, I made a cable in just 2 minutes and 42 seconds, a fully functional cable, near max esthetics score. Second and third part last only 1 hour and 15 minutes, and that is barely enough to answer all the questions, and configure the network for someone who knows how to do that stuff.

And how did I score. I won the FIRST place. As a reward for me is free CCNP curriculum (I just finished CCNA), and EMEA contest.

I'm so proud of myself.

damn... me and journals... i read only some, and write next to none...

since last one there where good times, bad times, worst times, then some better, bad, good... you get the point...

i still don't have a girfriend... i had problems with some good friends... my fault, but a bad one.. (that where the worst times)... now it's better... as you can see, i upload rarely... i shot very rare... just on some great occasions...

latest of my photos are mostly taken with a fisheye... an peleng 8mm m42 manual with eos adapter ring... on my 400d it behaves almost as an diagonal fisheye, but its image circle is still a bit to small, so some cropping has to happen to get great results... it's not mine lens, but i like it a lot... and it's CHEEEEEEEP.... and it's a fisheye... you don't need to bother focusing... just step it down to f5.6, set infinity focus mark at rightest 5.6 mark, and you'll get a bit less then 40 cm at the left 5.6 mark.... so 40 cm to infinity is in focus... great...

you have more light... step it down to f8... and i can't even say about the DOF!!!!... minimum focus distance is less then 22 cm... so just a few cm from the gigantic front lens element ...

oke... fist, some apologies... i wasn't in a mood to write journals for a while...

now... for my mood - i have discovered the meaning of love.... love... such a great emotion... only one problem... i still have to find a girl... that girl - the girl... had some crush on one, but she liked my friend.. jeah - i was crushed... but i got over it... now we are the best friends... and she is so nice.... damn, i can't say all i want to about her on english...

now some other news... i got some upgrades for my camera... first ones where sandisk extreme III 4gb card and sandisk extreme memory reader.... after that i got myself sigma 17-70 mm f2.8-4.5 dc macro... a great lens... excellent walk around lens... macro is also cool... not a real macro like canon ef 100 f2.8 macro... but a great addition... lens is fast... it's not hsm, but focus motor is still fast... and sharp!!! not L, but close.... croatinas, if you want to try it, one coffee will do it...

next was the plastic fantastic - aka canon ef 50 1.8 - i needed that lens for some night and concert photography... i used it well... but i haven't got around to uploading them...

and last... it's SUMMER - sea... water... swimming... going out with friends... trying to catch some girls... and rest...

Finally some snow!!!!! I went to a mountain nearby, on some hills. No lifts where functioning, but who needs them. Yes I took my camera to. At first i was just taking photos, rolling in the snow, laughing with new friends. And after that - I landed my first kickier! Or better to say, i landed it form third attempt, and to translate this snowboarder term to normal english - I managed to stay on my feet/snowboard (straight up) after jumping of a small ramp.
